FAB4 Competition New Rules 2012
The Committee have decided to amend the original rules of this competition to the following:-
There will now be only two sections – Print and Digitally Projected Image ( DPI),
But within each section there will be two sub-sections - Colour and Monochrome, which means that members may enter up to two (2) Print Panels - 1 Colour and/or 1 Monochrome
And up to two (2) DPI Panels – 1 Colour and/or 1 Monochrome.
There will be two trophies awarded in this competition –
One for best Print Panel (Either Colour or Monochrome)
One for the best DPI Panel ( Either Colour or Monochrome)
The objective of the competition is still to create a panel from four individual images to depict an Open theme of the member’s choice.
Entry Requirements:
A member can now enter a Maximum of Four Panels into the competition as follows:-
1 Colour Print Panel, 1 Monochrome Print Panel, 1 DPI Colour Panel, 1 DPI Monochrome Panel
Panels and individual images that have been previously used in a FAB4 competition or in an Annual Print Panel competition are ineligible.
The same image may not be used within different sections of the competition (ie – any panel within the competition may not use an image which forms part of another panel)
All entries submitted must use the appropriate SLPS entry form.
The Competition Secretary has the authority to remove any Image / Panel deemed not to comply with these rules
Here are a few examples of possible Panel Layouts –
Definition of a Monochrome Print is as per the L & CPU guidelines (found on their web-site) and any panel deemed not to comply with their definition will be deemed to be a Colour Panel.
Maximum Individual Print Size – 50cms x 40cms
Minimum Mount Size 30cms x 25cms
Each print entered should be clearly marked on the back to show it’s position within the panel - ie TL,TR BL,BR with arrows (if necessary) to show correct way up. Each Panel entered must be given a title.
All entries must be accompanied with a CD/DVD containing panels suitable for projection at 1024 pixels x 768 pixels x 72dpi
The CD/DVD must have the panel title(s) and membership number clearly marked
