In partnership with dot-art and LightNight 2012, Wongs Jewellers invite one and all to step inside their showroom and experience a fusion of music and art. The remarkable work of Liverpool photographer, Mark McGowan, will be married with the mesmerising tones of a local string quartet for guests to enjoy throughout the evening. Mark has been taking photos of Liverpool and the surrounding area for the last three years. A lifelong appreciation of the City’s architecture led him into the field and it is still the main focus of his work.

Producing cityscapes and capturing dramatic hidden details of the City, Mark showcases Liverpool from a different point of view. His work with reflections and new technology in post-processing that seen his work recognised in local newspapers, N-Photo magazine and Sevenstreets online. He is represented by Liverpool based arts organisation dot-art.

Come along to Open Eye on Liverpool LightNight with your friends and loved ones and get snapped vintage-style! Open Eye is well and truly hooked on Impossible Project’s new Polaroid film, so we decided to invite Incognito artist and Impossible expert Tom White to spread the love. Tom is setting-up a pop up studio outside the gallery, creating gorgeous snapshots of you and yours to take away.

Shadow Land is a major exhibition of work by internationally-acclaimed photographer Roger Ballen whose work offers a powerful social critique and an extreme, uncanny beauty. The exhibition explores three decades of Ballen’s career, charting the evolution of his unique photographic style and demonstrating the contribution he has made to contemporary photography.

The exhibition includes work from some of the biggest names in the photography and the writing world. 

The Sunday Times Magazine will be celebrating its 50^th Anniversary with a special free exhibition.  The exhibition’s regional tour will be launching at CUBE in Manchester on Wednesday 11^th April following a hugely successful run at the Saatchi Gallery in London, which attracted over 200,000 visitors and had to be extended twice due to popular demand.
