Dr Sigrun Tollerton

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Dr Sigrun Tollerton ARPS DPAGB on 21st December 2010 after a long and extremely brave, hard fought battle with cancer.

Sigrun and her husband Dave lectured to us on many occasions as well as judging numerous competitions for us. She will be sadly missed and we send our condolences to Dave and the family.

A long time member of both Bebington PS and Wrexham & District PS, Sigrun was well respected and loved by all who came in contact with her.

Sigrun was a very popular judge in both the L&CPU and the NWPA. Together with husband Dave, she lectured at many of the clubs, specialising in talks on the wildlife they both loved photographing. Sigrun was an excellent photographer but also had an extensive knowledge of the wildlife around her. She was always willing and happy to pass on her skills. Many photographers have benefited from her help, especially as they took their first steps into digital.

The funeral is at Wrexham Crematorium at 2pm on Friday 31st December.

In the late 70’s I joined PPS and my photographic interests diversified somewhat. I now enjoy Infra red photography, Landscape and Creative as well as Natural History. I have been to the USA and Africa in pursuit of photography.
