A WIN for SLPS….
Tonight saw the SLPS v Bebington Photographic Society Interclub Challenge. It had been 20+ years since the two clubs were together last, but tonight saw the renewal of that connection, with a promise to make this a more regular fixture.
The battle was judged by the popular judge Ian Stewart (ARPS / DPAGB) overseen by the two Society Presidents. First half showed 10 prints from each Society (unnamed) and Ian gave marks for each print. At the end of the marking, the points were added up and each Society credited with the marks scored on their individual scores.
Carol Schlijper from Bebington, snatched the top 20 points with her blue ice image (taken in Iceland) and when the points for the first half were added up, Bebington was the first round winner with 142 points to the SLPS’s 131.
After a break for refreshments and a chat with the Bebington members, Part 2 got under way with the DPI’s, our own President (Paul Mathews) got the overall image score of 20 points, and the SLPS won this part of the battle with a score of 149 to Bebington’s 134.
When both sets of scores were added a grand total of 280 to SLPS won the overall competition to Bebington’s 276!
A GREAT night…. and a good win for SLPS…. perhaps you could submit one of your own images for the next battle!
