Message from Paul Matthews, SLPS President
Dear Members,
The Committee has discussed whether the club meetings should continue in the present climate of the Covid-19 outbreak. Our primary focus is our members and their well being.
Many of our members are in the at risk group, either due to age or medical conditions.
We have therefore decided unanimously that our Thursday night meetings will cease forthwith, and this will continue until the new season starts in September, where we will all be back together again for a great new season refreshed and with lots of pictures for each other to see.
This time scale will be reviewed as the outbreak is monitored, so there may be a summer season.
In the mean time the committee are bringing ideas forward to keep us all active and interested in our craft, and these will be sent out to you all when completed.
Please remember that many of the judges and speakers we have are in the same at risk group as most of us have been assigned to.
The Annual Exhibition will be a casualty of this matter.
We at SLPS are not alone in this and many clubs, bigger and smaller have taken the decision to close until the next season starts.
Thank you all for your input and suggestions, we will keep in touch with you all.
Yours Sincerely on behalf of your committee,
Paul Matthews
