27 June – 7.30 on ZOOM – “A taste of Wales” Gareth Martin

Bio from Gareth

‘I joined my first club in 1978 and have been in 9 clubs altogether, one being in England. I started giving talks in 1997 and judging in 2002 when I was the Judges and lectures sec for the WPF. I’m known as the Welsh master storyteller. I photograph most genres. My go to genres are landscape and people but cover some unusual subjects too. I don’t have a website but have three out of date flickr sites that I don’t use anymore.

2025 I will be up to 850 tasks/Judgings. Although not a PAGB judge I’ve been lucky enough to judge a BPE in Scotland, a North Wales members exhibition a southern fed competition and a WCPF competition coming up in November. And judged for the WPF and some clubs’ big battles.

I set up Cymru Mono in May 2010 and set up Only Mono, a national monoprint battle in 2017 where 40 clubs from around the UK take part.

I’m currently Chairman/Programme sec for Afan Nedd and Cymru Mono, Publicity officer for the WPF and General Sec Aberavon Bowls club  so with all my bookings I’m very busy. I do have an understanding wife.

The question most ask is do I have time to take pics, I am out every Friday either with my club or on my own taking photos. I have two distinctions  AWPF,CPAGB’
