I bought a Praktica in 1969, my very first camera. I was keen to adopt digital as soon as it became affordable, so started my digital journey in 2003.

My photography trundled along until I joined Alsager Camera Club on retirement, soon realizing that to make an impact in competitions I needed to up my game.
Listening to some fantastic speakers showing their images and seeing the work of colleagues soon helped me improve. After winning Photographer of the year, I was prompted to getting wider critique of my Images, using the L&CPU Mentor system. I was soon into the C & D-PAGB awards, first using their free mock sessions to gauge my submissions. I have also spent too long learning more and more about Photoshop. and use those skills to enhance my Images. Although I always try to get the very best shot possible in camera!
I enjoy people photography and best known for this genre, however I do love the outdoors, so also create some successful landscapes. I cannot emphasize to much how ACC has helped me improve my Images. To date I have 27 different images that have gained me 68 BPE acceptances.
Just as importantly, I have also developed many strong friendships within the club, and enjoy many a long chat with like minded people!
