Due to an event taking place in the cathedral, the exhibition will be temporarily closed for one day on Thursday 9th June. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Entry to the Cathedral and exhibition is free. Car parking is pay on exit.
We are delighted to be returning to this prestigious venue with our Annual Exhibition, for two weeks commencing Mon 30th May. Showcasing a diverse selection of 256 prints and 112 projected images, the exhibition will present the work of members at all levels of skill and experience.
As a tribute to the late Reg Coleman FRPS (1920 – 2010) SLPS is privileged to be given the opportunity to show a selection of his most well known images – a glimpse inside the world of this extraordinary pioneering dark room worker, judge and lecturer. Reg was a truly inspirational photographer and member of the society for over 50 years.
This exhibition promises to live up to its usual high standards. Everyone has the chance to exhibit work within the following five categories – portrait/ figure study, natural history, creative/ avant-garde, record/architecture and pictorial/illustrative.
Judges for this year were Christine Widdall AFIAP DPAGB BPE3* and Tillman Kleinhans ARPS EFIAP DPAGB. The exceptionally high standard of images on view always ensures that this popular exhibition provides plenty of inspiration for all those budding David Baileys out there.
Come along and see if you agree with the judges selection!
