The Martin Avery Competition
The Martin Avery Competition
If you feel that you have an image or images that we could use for the Martin Avery Competitionplease let us have them by 4th of October. We do already have a selection that has been retained from the Annual Competition, so if you would like to add to them please let one of the committee know.
The Martin Avery Competition is a prestigious North West event with six other clubs and is hotly contended. It is primarily a creative competition.
As you know we are the current Champions, having done a clean sweep in the awards last year at the North Cheshire Club venue.
Martin Avery and Tony Myers (of South Liverpool PS) were instrumental in setting up workshops in the North West under the aegis of RPS to promote digital imaging and the creative use of Photoshop. Unfortunately Martin died far too early, and Tony Myers was keen to set up the competition in Martin’s name with the emphasis on the creative aspect. Martin’s wife had provided the Gold medals (which Martin had won) as the basis of the magnificent trophy.
If you feel that you have any new images for this competition that you would like to be considered by the selection panel please bring them along to the Thursday meeting and pass them to either Denis Foy, Tony Jones, Martin Reece or Paul Matthews. We have retained a selection of images for external competitions and we will be choosing from these and any additional images.
So please help us retain this trophy at SLPS by getting your mind to work and presenting us with some stunning work.
Many thanks,
Paul Matthews
