“James Hardy, President of the L&CPU, generously offered to come to South Liverpool Photographic Society’s annual trophy presentation evening on Thursday 7th July, showing he makes a point of visiting clubs, getting to know the members and offering valuable support. Despite the imposing chain of office, we were immediately captivated by his friendliness, humour and patience in posing for photographs with the prize winners, plus deftly manipulating some very weighty trophies!
James gave us even more of his valuable time after the tea break, by telling us the story of his own photographic path, both insightful and humorous too, including the tale of how in his youth he used the bathroom as a dark room while his enraged father, desperate to use the loo, hammered on the door! We were then privileged to see a selection of his own images, really impressive in their quality and the amazing range of genres, from stunning landscapes to sports’ photography, still life, flash movement water photos, creative ICM, urban architecture and portraiture. It was a fascinating presentation, with an informative and entertaining commentary. SLPS would like to thank James Hardy very warmly indeed for making our evening a memorable one indeed.
