Review of the brilliant evening by Tim Evans

And so the first experimental session.  Was it good?  Yes – with an entry of 46 we rose to the challenge.
Although the preponderance of subject matter was flowers, what was interesting was the variety of items used to provide a filter.  I listed gauzes, chiffon, shawls, hairnets, bathroom windows, perspex, Derek’s cheap kaleidoscope, a sieve, and Bill’s tights plus a variety of bottles and glasses all to very good effect.  Only Muriel took to the digital solution that is Photoshop with a fascinating image of two workers in a tunnel.
But it is worrying that there were so many whisky glasses used; have we got a problem there?
And then a man with a passion, John Thomson, did a double show.  He showed us his best with some wonderful Alpine mountain landscapes, snow scenes and active skiing.  He is privileged to take parties of Britain’s most hopeful skiers to Europe every year and we gained an insight into the process of producing at least competent skiers.  It is encouraging to learn that the fastest girl is from Norfolk, not known for its snow clad peaks.  He then took us to the Outer Hebrides and showed us some wonderful pictures of Scotland at its sunniest and best.  Sound stuff!
