Ted Baker FRPS – RIP

Ted at home Sept 2022
It is with great sadness that the Society has been informed of the death of Life Member Ted Baker FRPS  following a long illness and a period in hospital.
Ted was one of our longest serving members and a former President. He will be remembered for his documentary monochrome images of Liverpool 8 from the sixties which were exhibited in Liverpool and widely acclaimed.
In addition with his love of Jazz Music Ted embarked on a project to photograph many famous jazz musicians while performing in jazz clubs. This produced a body of work which would form part of his Fellowship submission. Although initially his first submission was declined however subsequently his next submission was rightly awarded a Fellowship of the RPS. It should be noted that all of Ted’s work was darkroom based and he was a master of his craft.
Ted will be sadly missed by the Society and especially those members who knew Ted over many years. Ted Baker FRPS RIP.
The funeral will take place at 1 pm on Thursday 19th Oct in the Rosemary Chapel of Springwood Crematorium.
Friends are also welcome to join the family afterwards in the Rose of Mossley Pub.
